Literature and Governance

We have combined our love of literature with our Governance unit. We have read some really great books this week that have helped us to better understand the roles of citizens, the roles of government, and the roles of the leaders. Please continue to read what we have to say about these entertaining and educational books.

I think that Twenty and Ten is a kind of a hard book because there is a lot of understanding. It's based on world war2. It is a historical fiction. The war is against Germany and France. It's was happening in France and Nazis and Adolf Hitler. The war began at 1944.
My book, Anne Frank: a Life in Hiding, is about a Jewish girl named Anne Frank lived through WW2, and how she had to go into hiding. It is based off a strong, sad, and true story. It connects to gov'ts because it is denying  Jewish peoples rights.

My book's title was Anne Frank: Life in Hiding, and I thought it was a very interesting book if you like books about world war II and want to be in a brain of someone in world war II, you will like this book.

We read different books but both of them were in World War II.  In both of these books, Twenty and Ten and Anne Frank: Life in Hiding,  the government denied Jewish peoples rights and their religion.
- Mina and Beatrix

My book was Twenty and Ten and in the book the government is making problems for a group of people so sometimes the government is not right or they make bad mistakes which does not help the people of that country.

My book is Rickshaw Girl it connects to government by Governance denying citizens rights. And in my book people denying girls rights and privileges. Like Four example Naima wants to get a job but she is a girl.

My book is Twenty and Ten this book connects to government because government has to make hard decisions like which side they will choose to help in war. This was a very exciting and intense book because the nazis were attacking and the children couldn't- wouldn't betray the jewish children.
